In Budapest during summer, high school student Abel is finding it hard to concentrate on his final exams as he grapples with unrequited love for his best friend Janka. Their teacher Jakab, who is married, has a complicated history with Abel's conservative father. This unravels during Abel's history graduation exam, causing a national scandal and revealing the tensions of a divided society.
