Synopsis
At the beginning of World War I, Paul Baumer, a fervent young German, enlists in the army with his friends after being influenced by propaganda. However, as the brutal realities of war unfold and his comrades suffer, Paul begins to question the senselessness of fighting for mere scraps of land.
