Synopsis
Hattie, a prostitute in New Orleans, meets a photographer named Bellocq who takes her picture. Her daughter, Violet, befriends him, but when her mother leaves town, Violet is forced into prostitution. She becomes determined to be with Bellocq, but her plans are disrupted when her mother returns.
